Federal High Court of Nigeria e-Affidavit (Step-By-Step to Apply)

The Federal High Court of Nigeria’s e-Affidavit system has been a game-changer, making the process of obtaining a verifiable affidavit more efficient and straightforward. Here’s a breakdown of how to navigate the system and get your affidavit without hassle.

1. Understanding the e-Affidavit System
The e-Affidavit system was introduced as part of the Federal High Court's push towards digital transformation. This system allows individuals to apply for, submit, and process affidavits online. It streamlines the traditionally manual process and enhances document security, reducing the risks of forgery and fraud.

2. Why Use the e-Affidavit System?
One key advantage is that it saves time. No longer do you need to visit a court physically and wait for hours. You can complete the application online and get it done within minutes. The document you receive is digitally verifiable, ensuring authenticity when submitted for official purposes. Plus, it's more secure because the system legally binds applicants to the truth of their statements.

3. How to Apply for an e-Affidavit of the Federal High Court:

Step 1: Register on the ECMS Portal Visit the Federal High Court's ECMS (Electronic Court Management System) portal using https://portal.fhc.gov.ng/  You'll be required to create an account if you don’t already have one.

Step 2: Complete the Application Form Once logged in, navigate to the new application section. Choose the type of affidavit, fill in the necessary details, including your personal information, and any relevant documents that need to be attached.

Step 3: Review and Submit After filling out the form, take a moment to review your information carefully. Submitting false information is legally binding and could have serious consequences if discovered later.

Step 4: Make Payment You will be required to make a payment online for the affidavit to be processed. Once the payment is made, you will receive a confirmation, and your application will be queued for review.

Step 5: Receive Your e-Affidavit After processing, the e-Affidavit will be sent to your account dashboard. You can download it and use it immediately. The affidavit includes a unique verification code that can be checked by anyone seeking to confirm its authenticity.

4. Verifying the e-Affidavit
Each e-Affidavit issued comes with a unique identification number and QR code. Any organization or individual can easily verify the document's authenticity by entering the code on the ECMS portal or scanning the QR code. This gives you peace of mind, knowing your document is valid and protected against forgery.

Incorporating digital solutions like the e-Affidavit system into our daily processes is more than just about convenience; it’s about embracing a future where technology facilitates transparency, efficiency, and accountability. Whether you're in Lagos, Abuja, or anywhere else in Nigeria, you can now obtain a verifiable affidavit without the stress of long queues or delays.
