WAEC Updates OUTSTANDING Results for 2025 WASSCE As JAMB Reactivates Uploading of 2025 O'Level Results (Step-By-Step Guide)

 

There are indications that the management of West African Examination Council Nigeria has updated subjects marked as OUTSTANDING with their respective grades.

Students whose results were marked as OUTSTANDING has since check their result to discover that subjects earlier marked as OUTSTANDING now has a grade.

Students whose result contain subjects with OUTSTANDING are by this notice advised to re-check their 2025 WASSCE results on WAEC Result checker portal - www.waecdirect.org before proceeding to upload their 2025 O'Level Results on JAMB CAPS Porta,

JAMB RE-OPENS UPLOAD OF O'LEVEL RESULTS FOR 2025/2026 UTME CANDIDATES:

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has activated the portal (CAPS) for Uploading/Re-uploading O'level results for the 2025/2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates.

Candidates who were unable to upload their results during the initial registration process can now do so by visiting any JAMB-accredited CBT center with their O'LEVEL results and JAMB profile details.

NB: All candidates who wrote the 2025 WASSCE should hold on as the portal isn't fully restored for their uploading.

You are therefore advised to also effect such changes on your school portal, using the O'level Verification section tab.

What is JAMB CAPS?

JAMB CAPS stands for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board Central Admissions Processing System. Introduced to enhance transparency and efficiency, it serves as an online platform where prospective university students can monitor and manage their admission status.

Accessing JAMB CAPS is a straightforward process. Follow these steps:

Visit the JAMB e-Facility Portal: Navigate to the official JAMB e-Facility portal - https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng/

Login to Your Account: Enter your registered email address and password to access your dashboard.

Access CAPS: Once logged in, locate and click on the ‘Check Admission Status’ tab. Then, select ‘Access my CAPS’ to enter the CAPS portal.

Note: For mobile users, it’s advisable to use the Chrome browser and enable the ‘Desktop site’ option for optimal functionality.

How to Check, Accept, or Reject Admission on JAMB CAPS

After logging into JAMB CAPS, follow these steps to manage your admission status:

Check Admission Status:

On the CAPS portal, your admission status will be displayed. It may show ‘Admitted’, ‘Not Admitted’, or ‘Admission in Progress’.

Accept or Reject Admission:

If offered admission, two options will be available: ‘Accept Admission’ and ‘Reject Admission’.

Click ‘Accept Admission’ to confirm your acceptance.

Click ‘Reject Admission’ if you choose not to accept the offer.

Important: Accepting an admission offer means you will no longer be considered for admission by other institutions. Conversely, rejecting an offer reopens the possibility of admission from other institutions.

How to Upload Your Result on JAMB CAPS

Uploading your O’Level results is a critical step in the admission process. 

Here’s how to do it:

Login to JAMB e-Facility: Access your account as previously described.

Navigate to ‘Upload O’Level Results’: On your dashboard, find and click on this option.

How to Accept or Reject a Course Transfer on JAMB CAPS

Sometimes, an institution may offer you admission into a course different from your initial choice. To respond to such offers:

Access the ‘Transfer Approval’ Section: Within the CAPS portal, locate and click on ‘Transfer Approval’.

View Proposed Transfer: Details of the new course will be displayed for your consideration.

Accept or Reject:

To accept the new course, click ‘Accept’.

To decline, click ‘Reject’.

Remember: Accepting a course transfer finalises your admission into the new programme while rejecting it allows you to await other offers.

JAMB Releases Update On Uploading of O'Level Results on CAPS Portal (Press Statement)

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has assured the 2025 UTME Candidates that the uploading of O'Level results on Central Admissions Processing System - CAPS Portal will resume shortly.

In a statement released on the official X handle of JAMB, the board retreated that the resent technical glitches experienced by one of the examination bodies in Nigeria necessitated the need to temporarily suspends the upload of O'Level results.

INCLUSION OF SOCIAL DEMOCRATIC PARTY (SDP) CANDIDATES FOR BYE-ELECTIONS 

The Commission has been served with the judgement of the Federal High Court, Abuja Division, in Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/1525/2025. In the judgement, the Commission was ordered to include the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and its candidates in the bye-elections in 12 States of the Federation. The party did not earlier submit a valid notice for the conduct of primaries for the bye-elections. For this reason, they were not monitored by the Commission.

However, in compliance with the judgement, the names of the candidates submitted manually have been accepted and published on our website. The party will participate in the bye-elections.

The Commission wishes to assure the public, especially voters in the 12 States, that the 11th-hour judgement will not affect the election which will proceed tomorrow Saturday 16th August 2025 as scheduled.

Meanwhile, the Commission will exercise its legitimate right of appeal under the law.

Bye-Elections: IGP Orders Restrictions of Movement In Affected Areas (Press Statement - See List of 13 Affected States)

BYE-ELECTIONS: IGP ORDERS WATER TIGHT SECURITY, DEPLOYS LOGISTICAL SUPPORT FOR FREE, FAIR ELECTIONS ACROSS 13 STATES

Orders Restriction of Movement in Affected Areas, Ban on VIP Aides, Escorts, Quasi Security Outfits

Sequel to the forthcoming bye-election in 13 states across the Federation scheduled to hold tomorrow, 16th August, 2025, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has reiterated his earlier directives on the deployment of operational logistics to the affected States and Local Government Areas where the elections would hold to provide an enabling environment for a free and fair elections. The affected states include Anambra, Kano, Oyo, Taraba, Enugu, Adamawa, Edo, Jigawa, Kogi, Kano, Ogun, Zamfara, and Niger States.

In order to ensure smooth elections, the IGP has directed the deployment of senior officers of the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police and Commissioners of Police to assist State Commissioners of Police to ensure proper supervision over the electoral process for a smooth and hitch free election, while officers and men of the Police Mobile Force, Special Intervention Squad, Force Intelligence Department and other tactical units have equally been deployed.

The IGP has also ordered the restriction of all forms of vehicular movement on roads, waterways, and other forms of transportation, from 12 am to 6 pm on election day within affected Local Government Areas with the exception of those on essential services including INEC Officials, Accredited Media and Electoral Observers, Ambulances responding to medical emergencies, and firefighters.

Similarly, the IGP reiterates the ban on all security aides to VIPs and escorts from accompanying their principals and politicians to polling booths and collation centres during the election. State-established and owned security outfits/organizations, quasi-security units, and privately-owned guards and security outfits are also barred from participating in election security management.

The Inspector General of Police hereby charges all officers deployed for this special duty to ensure compliance with NPF standard operational protocols for elections and further urges all citizens to be law abiding during and after the elections and assures that all necessary security arrangements have been emplaced to ensure their right to vote is unobstructed.

The Federal Government of Nigeria express deep concerns over the recent ruling by a Canadian Federal court that erroneously designates certain political parties in Nigeria as "terrorist organizations." 

The declaration was in pursuance of a case involving a Nigerian, Mr. Douglas Egharevba, who arrived in Canada in September 2017 and applied for inland refugee status under the immigration and Refugee Protection Act of Canada. 

This baseless classification is not only reckless but also constitutes an unacceptable interference in Nigeria's internal affairs and democratic processes. 

The Court made a sweeping accusation against the entire membership of a political party that has produced three democratically elected presidents, instead of focusing on individuals found wanting. 

The larger ramification of the decision is that every member of the mentioned political parties is a potential terrorist, and that is completely false and unacceptable. 

Nigeria is a sovereign nation with a robust legal and constitutional framework governing political activities. Our political parties operate within the ambit of the law and are integral to the country's vibrant democracy. 

To associate legitimate political entities with terrorism without credible evidence is a grave misrepresentation that undermines Nigeria's democratic institutions and could incite unnecessary tension. 

The Federal Government Of Nigeria, therefore, calls on the Canadian authorities to immediately retract this erroneous designation and refrain from actions that could be misconstrued as endorsing politically motivated narratives against Nigeria. 

Diplomatic channels remain open for constructive dialogue, and we urge the Government of Canada to engage with the relevant Nigerian institutions to rectify this Nigeria remains to the global fight against terrorism and has made significant strides in countering extremist groups within its borders; therefore, called on the international community to disregard this misguided ruling and reaffirm its confidence in Nigeria's democratic governance and rule Of law. 

The government further urges Nigerian nationals to refrain from making unfounded allegations against Nigeria under the pretext of seeking asylum or favours from foreign entities.

ADC to FG: Listen to What Okonjo-Iweala is Not Saying

-Party Says WTO Boss’s  Comment is about Suffering Nigerians not Meaningless Stability. 

The ADC has criticized the Federal Government for ignoring the real message in the recent comments by the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, on the state of the Nigerian economy, choosing instead to celebrate the headlines.

According to the party, government officials and their media surrogates have amplified only one soundbite from her remarks, where she credited the administration for “stabilizing the economy,” while deliberately ignoring her more serious call for urgent measures to grow the economy and establish social safety nets for millions of Nigerian families suffering the negative impacts of the government’s reforms.

In a press statement by Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, the ADC noted that the effusive celebration of the headlines reflects a government in desperate need of validation, rather than one focused on the job at hand.

Dr. Okonjo-Iweala knows that a stable economy is one that is growing in real terms, led by jobs and productivity. She knows that a stable economy is one that is able to guarantee minimum standards of living for the people. She knows that economic stability that leaves the majority in grinding poverty is meaningless.

Therefore, what she’s really saying — which the government has chosen to ignore — is that the economy is not growing, jobs are not being created, and too many people are suffering as a direct consequence of President Tinubu’s ill-conceived and badly implemented reforms. These are the issues she wanted the government to address.

Like the international stateswoman that she is, Dr. Okonjo-Iweala prefaced her comments with the niceties befitting her stature by commending the administration for “stabilizing the economy.” But, having done with that courtesy, she immediately highlighted the urgent need for job creation to bring succour to the ever-growing army of unemployed youths and others who lost their jobs as businesses shut down under the crushing weight of the Tinubu-led government. She said the government needs to urgently grow the economy to put money in people’s pockets — which means that whatever “stable economy” the government is celebrating has not translated into real relief for hundreds of millions of Nigerian families, and they need to change course.

For the record, the economy is not performing in a way that could justify such selective optimism. GDP growth in Q1 2025 was 3.13 percent, and Q2 registered barely over 3 percent — a sluggish pace that fails to meet the expectation of broad-based expansion. Forecasts for the year hover between 3.0 percent and 3.4 percent, far from the robust rebound the administration envisioned. Headline inflation remains unyielding, sitting at 22.22 percent as of June, with food inflation at 21.97 percent, meaning that millions of Nigerians are paying more, not less. Petrol prices now average N1,037.66 per litre, still a significant burden on households and small businesses. The naira trades at around N1,530 to the dollar — drastically weaker than President Tinubu’s pre-reform levels of N460 — eroding purchasing power across the board.

In fact, it is the Tinubu administration’s policy choices — fuel-subsidy removal, naira devaluation, tariff hikes on electricity and transport — that have triggered this distress and made social safety nets not optional but essential. Yet these programs have either been administered haphazardly, suspended, or had negligible impact.

Every well-meaning Nigerian knows that celebrating the mere appearance of "stability" is not only pyrrhic but also dangerous. This is why, we believe, Dr. Okonjo-Iweala tweeted a clarification this afternoon, noting that Nigerians are experiencing hardship from President Tinubu’s reforms, and that putting in place more programs to help especially the poor and vulnerable manage this hardship is very important. She further stressed that “At the same time, it is necessary to start work on growing the economy to create more jobs and put money in people’s pockets.”

It is in this regard that the ADC strongly believes such candour from a global economic leader like Dr. Okonjo-Iweala underscores the urgent need for federal government policies that go beyond rhetoric and propaganda, but interaddress the daily harsh realities of millions of Nigerians under the APC.

OAU Confirms Death of Part Two Medical Student

 

The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has confirmed the death of Ajibola Ibitayo, a Part Two Dentistry student, who allegedly took his own life after failing his examinations.

According to the university’s spokesperson, Abiodun Olarewaju, the results released on Wednesday showed Ibitayo would have to repeat the class for the second consecutive year. He reportedly injected himself at his parents’ home in Ejigbo, Osun State.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Simeon Bamire described the incident as tragic, urging students to see failure as a temporary setback, not the end of life. He extended condolences to the bereaved family and the university community.

The Vice-Chancellor enjoined parents and guardians to instil in their children and wards the understanding that temporary setbacks in the pursuit of success are part of life and not the end of it.

He also urged students and young people to view failure as an opportunity to redirect their paths toward success and greater achievements.

Professor Bamire prayed that God Almighty would grant the parents, family, faculty, College of Health Sciences, and the university community the fortitude to bear the loss of the boy.

Lagos Announces N8.5M As Initial Deposit for 2026 Hajj

LAGOS ANNOUNCES N8.5M AS INITIAL DEPOSIT FOR 2026 HAJJ

The Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the commencement of sales of forms and payment of the initial deposit for the 2026 Hajj Holy Pilgrimage exercise. 

This was disclosed by the Board Secretary, Mr. AbdulHakeem Ajomagberin, in a statement issued on Tuesday. According to him, the cost of the Hajj form is N20,000.00, while the initial deposit for Hajj is N8,500,000.00 pending the conclusion of contract negotiations with service providers.

Ajomagberin stated that the initial fair was in line with the official announcement made by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) during a post-Hajj strategic meeting, held last week in Abuja, where Chairmen and Executive Secretaries of States Pilgrims Welfare Boards gathered to review the 2025 operations and begin early preparation for the 2026 exercise.

He said that the Board has put in place a flexible payment plan, which allows the intending pilgrims to pay in three instalments to ease the financial burden. He added that these arrangements are intended to increase accessibility and enable more intending pilgrims to participate in the forthcoming spiritual obligation.

Ajomagberin stressed further that the Board takes accountability and transparency in its operations very seriously. He said, “ It is essential to note that payments should not be made to any individual. Instead, payment for both the form and the Hajj initial deposit must be made through a bank draft raised in favour of the Lagos State Muslim Welfare Board from any commercial bank and submit the same to the Accounts Department of the Board for an official receipt.

The Board’s Scribe expressed the commitment of the State Government towards providing a comfortable and spiritually enriching experience for every intending pilgrim both in Nigeria and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He stated that well-thought-out packages which include: conducive accommodation/hotels near Haram in Makkah and Madinah, Ziyarah (visitation) to historical sites, regular spiritual counselling, provision of local delicacies daily, medical and other welfare packages have been put in place by the State.

While giving assurances that the outlined packages would bring satisfaction to all intending pilgrims and ensure their comforts during the exercise, he affirmed that the above initiatives align with the T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Agenda of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s administration, which prioritises the welfare of its citizens.

The Nigeria Police Force has received an official petition from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) over an alleged incident involving Mr. Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (popularly known as KWAM 1). He is accused of engaging in unruly conduct that allegedly obstructed the safe operation of an aircraft, in violation of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations, 2023 following a reported incident on 5 August 2025 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

In response, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has directed the Commissioner of Police, Airport Command, to immediately commence a thorough investigation into the matter, to unravel the circumstances which led to the ugly incident and ensure justice is served accordingly.

Physical Planning Laws for Public Good, Not for Victimization - Ogun Govt

The Ogun State government has stated that the goal of physical planning laws and regulations is to aid urban development and control land use in the public interest.

Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, TPL Tunji Odunlami stated this on Monday at a press conference held at the Olusegun Osoba Press Centre, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. 

He noted that the goal of the ongoing exercise in Sagamu and Ijebu-Ode local government areas is not to victimize any law-abiding citizens but to ensure that development laws are obeyed.

He stated that the exercises are aimed at verifying the permit status of all types of developments, including houses, schools, hospitals, and other commercial buildings.

The owners of such properties, Odunlami noted, were served due notices to approach the Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Authority, an agency of the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, to present relevant documents in conformity with existing building laws and regulations.

"It is pertinent to note that this is a daily routine and ongoing activity of this agency and is devoid of witch-hunting, and therefore not designed to harm the interests of any individual.

"It is a simple and transparent approach that is known and adopted worldwide, including in most states in Nigeria. What we are currently doing is no exception.

"This exercise has been done in Abeokuta and is now extended to Sagamu and Ijebu-Ode, where there is no fuss except this one. It is also going to be carried out in Ota and Ilaro, where we also have GRAs," he said.

The commissioner emphasized that the owner of any building served with the notice only needs to approach the office that issued the notice and present their permit and other documents for verification.

"As we speak, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has yet to do so or make any representation to that effect."

"That is why whenever OGSG issues enforcement notices, genuine developers respond through the proper channels by justifying their developments or seeking plan adjustments and ratifications."

TPL Tunji Odunlami affirmed that the state government has a standing mandate to enforce its physical planning laws and does so every day across the State, considering only the law and public good.

The identity of developers, the commissioner maintained, does not feature in its considerations, adding that the current enforcement notices issued are not different, as they form only a small part of several enforcement notices issued this month.

"While OGSG does not concede the stated ages or stages of these developments, the law is clear – the State Physical Planning Law and all regulations under it are enforceable at any time and for all time on all developments in the State, including developments that preceded the law," he said.

Highlighting the content of the law, the commissioner said: "Section 73 of the State's Physical Planning Law provides that an enforcement notice may be issued under subsection (I) of this Section, notwithstanding that the unauthorized development, renovation, alteration, repair, addition, or violation took place before the commencement of this Law."

TINTED GLASS PERMIT: NPF FURTHER EXTENDS GRACE PERIOD FOR ENFORCEMENT TO OCTOBER 2, 2025

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has approved a further extension of the grace period for the enforcement of the Tinted Glass Permit requirement for vehicles with tinted windows, with the new enforcement date now set for 2nd October, 2025.

This decision follows a significant surge in applications via the official portal, reflecting heightened public compliance with the directive. In light of this, the Force considers it imperative to allow sufficient time for the meticulous scrutiny of applications to ensure that the permit is issued only to eligible and qualified individuals, in line with national security considerations.

The extension will also provide room for the continued fine-tuning of verification processes, both digital and physical, to maintain the integrity of the permit system and prevent abuse. The Nigeria Police Force reaffirms that the authorized platform for the application remains https://possap.gov.ng and advises citizens to disregard any unofficial channels.
