Justice Kudirat Motonmori Olatokunbo Kekere-Ekun, GCON, has approved the elevation of 68 legal practitioners to the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
The approval came at the Committee's 174th Plenary Session held on 23rd July 2026, marking another significant milestone in Nigeria's judicial calendar.
## The Nation's Highest Legal Distinction
The rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria stands as the pinnacle of professional achievement in the Nigerian legal profession, conferred as a mark of exceptional professional excellence upon legal practitioners who have demonstrated remarkable distinction either as advocates in the courts or as academics contributing significantly to the development of legal scholarship.
## Induction Programme Mandatory
In compliance with directives from the Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria (BOSAN), all shortlisted conferees must attend and successfully complete the Pre-Swearing-In Induction Programme. The Committee warned that any breach may attract sanctions for violations of statutory or ethical rules.
